Star Wars Battle Pod is a shallow cash-in but so what?

It’s repurposing Bandai Namco's amusingly elaborate Gundam Bonds of the Battlefield hardware. You sit behind a closed door in a private sphere with a somewhat wraparound projected screen. You have some rad looking levers and stuff.

It’s taking away from the Gundam game rather than adding to it. No multiplayer, so no headset comms; no consistent game structure or interaction model, so no depth.

You can do the Death Star trench run on a big surround screen, though. Worth a ¥300 credit? Hmm…
